Up the river and along the shore
All six sit within about six miles of each other. Centerbrook and Essex are on the river, Deep River is upstream of them, Old Saybrook is down at the river mouth, and Westbrook is the next town west along the coast.
Centerbrook is a village within the town of Essex, so the two Main Street venues there and the butcher on Plains Road all sit inside Essex as the town lines are drawn.
The other half of the network — Bristol and Warren, Rhode Island — is about sixty miles east.
